The Artist

I paint the places that have marked me — above all, the mountains of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

I am French, my father was Ampezzano, and Cortina is part of who I am. I grew up knowing its mountains, its forests, its lakes and its valleys intimately — the Tofane, Cristallo, Sorapis, Croda da Lago, Becco di Mezzodì, and the many landscapes that surround the valley. I know their changing light, the silence of winter, the colours of autumn, and the particular atmosphere that settles over the mountains at the end of the day.

The Ampezzo Valley is a place of extraordinary beauty, surrounded by the Dolomites on every side. But for me, these mountains are more than a spectacular landscape. They are familiar places, connected to family, memory and a deep sense of belonging.

My paintings are not intended as simple portraits of these places. They are personal interpretations of what I know and feel — the colour of the rock, the depth of the forests, the reflections of the lakes, the changing light and the silence between the mountains.

I also paint the Mediterranean and the landscapes that have marked my life beyond the Alps. Each painting is an invitation to pause for a moment and enter the landscape — perhaps to feel something of what I have felt standing there myself.
