The story

About this painting

Beneath the peaks of the Dolomites, the lake takes on an almost impossible blue. I wanted to capture that rare moment when mountain, forest and water seem to become part of the same quiet world. Pale rock rises above the dark pines, while the still surface of the lake holds the light of the entire valley.

The artist

Lorenzo Manaigo

I paint the places that have marked me — above all, the mountains of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

I am French, my father was Ampezzano, and Cortina is part of who I am. Each painting is an invitation to pause for a moment and enter the landscape.
